We are offering an online "Safe at Home" class to help children (fourth grade and up) prepare for the responsibilities and personal safety of being home alone.

Registration Details

This virtual class will be held on Wednesday Dec. 29 from 10-11:30 a.m. You will be sent a Webex link prior to class date. A booklet will be mailed to you. If there are 2 or more children from one household, please call (608) 775-6870 before registering.

Description

Will your children stay home alone on occasion? Are they prepared to navigate an emergency or a handle a stranger? Gundersen Health System is offering an online "Safe at Home" class to help children (fourth grade and up) prepare for the responsibilities and personal safety of being home alone.

They will learn:

  • What to do when someone calls/stops and no adult is home
  • Leadership and decision making skills
  • What to do in an emergency
  • Fire and personal safety

A $15 pre-payment is required. The fee covers the cost of materials, which will be mailed or available for pick-up. For questions, please contact wellness@gundersenhealth.org or (608) 775-6870. Class size is limited. Registrants will access the class from their computer or smart device through a WebEx link which will be provided prior to the class start date.
