About our Transition to Practice nursing residency
We're excited to support your journey as a new nurse with our comprehensive 12-month Transition to Practice nursing residency program. Our program is designed to provide you with the individualized support and professional development you need to thrive in your new role.
- All registered nurses starting at Gundersen with less than one year of patient care experience are automatically enrolled.
- You'll participate in six dynamic core sessions and a simulated learning experience to help you smoothly transition into clinical practice.
- Small group sizes promote interaction and collaborative learning from one another.
Program topics
Our Transition to Practice nursing residency curriculum is carefully designed to ensure you're well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. You'll complete the following six core sessions, plus a simulation experience, throughout your first year.
