UWSMPH Phase 3 Students
Gundersen welcomes Phase 3 students from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) to participate in inpatient and outpatient rotations, as well as sub-internships.
Overview
UWSMPH Phase 3 students can choose from a range of hospital-based and clinical elective rotations, as well as sub-internships. During your rotations, we’ll provide as much autonomy as you can manage. Teaching rounds occur daily on weekdays.
Inpatient Acting Internship
We offer Phase 3 students the opportunity to experience inpatient rotations in General Medicine, Cardiology/Critical Care or the Intensive Care Unit/Pulmonary Medicine.
Ambulatory Acting Internship
Phase 3 students can participate in rotations at our rural clinics in Whitehall, Tomah, Sparta and Viroqua in Wisconsin and Decorah, Iowa.
Electives and Selectives
UWSMPH Phase 3 students can participate in a wide range of hospital-based and clinical elective and selective rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments.
Intern Prep Course
Our Intern Prep Course (IPC) is a one-week, hands-on residency preparation program designed to prepare Phase 3 medical students to begin their Primary Care internships.
