Gundersen Moundview welcomes nurse practitioner to Friendship Clinic
Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics is pleased to welcome family nurse practitioner, Jennifer (Jen) Kohnke, APNP. She is now seeing patients at Friendship Clinic.
Kohnke cares for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. Her special interests include wellness, women’s health, and pediatrics. She earned her undergrad degree in nursing from UW Oshkosh and her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Frontier Nursing University.
“I have a special place in my heart for women’s health,” said Kohnke. “I worked in obstetrics for ten years as a registered nurse and over two years as a department director prior to becoming a nurse practitioner.”
Kohnke has been a nurse practitioner for nearly five years. She feels one of her most important roles is educating her patients and making sure they understand their treatment plan prior to leaving the clinic.
“I believe patients should make informed decisions about their care,” said Kohnke. “I am open and honest with them. They need to understand their current health, what their options are, and how the choices they make now will impact their health in the future.”
Kohnke grew up in Westfield and is a graduate of Westfield High School. She currently lives outside of Montello with her husband and two children. In her free time she enjoys hiking, biking, boating, running, reading, and spending time with family.
For more information or to schedule an appointment with Kohnke, call Gundersen Moundview’s Friendship Clinic at (608) 339-6350.
