How to apply

Our applications are now closed for 2024-2026. Our next cohort will begin on Aug. 1, 2024, and will run for 18 months.

Application requirements 

You’re eligible to apply if, at the start of your fellowship, you hold a degree from an accredited physician assistant program and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. After you apply through our form, email these documents to [email protected]

  • Curriculum vitae 
  • Personal statement 
  • Official transcripts from your physician assistant school 
  • 3 letters of recommendation: 
    • One from the program director, if you’re in school  
    • One from a colleague, if you’re working 
    • Ideally one from an emergency physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner 

Policies 

We don’t offer advanced placement based on previous post-graduate coursework or program participation. The EMPA Fellowship confers certification of completion. It does not award academic credits.
