You’ll train alongside our distinguished physicians in Family Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Our experienced staff deliver more than 1,700 newborns each year – more than any other facility in our area – with up to 400 born through cesarean section. Our flagship medical center in La Crosse, Wis., serves as a regional referral center for mothers expecting a high-risk pregnancy and hosts a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Shannan Stephens, MD, program director
"Gundersen has a long-standing history of providing excellent obstetrics training to Family Medicine residents and medical students. This fellowship is the next step in that journey for both fellows and us as educators. Through this fellowship, Family Medicine physicians will further their skills and knowledge to be able to provide full-spectrum obstetrics care for patients close to home. This is essential to fill obstetric care needs in rural and under-resourced areas to improve the health of the communities we serve."
