During our year together, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide full-spectrum obstetric care in under-resourced communities.
Your experience begins with 8 weeks in labor and delivery at our state-of-the-art teaching medical center, where you’ll grow proficient in vaginal deliveries, including vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC), vacuum-assisted deliveries and cesarean sections. Your schedule includes 24-hour in-house call and out-of-hospital cesarean section only call.
You’ll learn how to manage pregnancy, including pre- and post-term complications, during ongoing training in labor and delivery, Family Medicine and high-risk Maternal Fetal Medicine
You’ll spend 6-8 weeks non-contiguous training with obstetric patients at our clinic in Tomah to understand the benefits and challenges of practicing in rural communities
At Gundersen, we learn from each other. Your fellowship experience allows you to educate our regional obstetric providers during lectures and simulation drills.
