During our year together, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide full-spectrum obstetric care in under-resourced communities.
-
Your experience begins with 8 weeks in labor and delivery at our state-of-the-art teaching medical center, where you’ll grow proficient in vaginal deliveries, including vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC), vacuum-assisted deliveries and cesarean sections. Your schedule includes 24-hour in-house call and out-of-hospital cesarean section only call.
-
You’ll learn how to manage pregnancy, including pre- and post-term complications, during ongoing training in labor and delivery, Family Medicine and high-risk Maternal Fetal Medicine.
-
You’ll spend 6-8 non-contiguous training with obstetric patients at our clinic in Tomah to understand the benefits and challenges of practicing in rural communities.
-
At Gundersen, we learn from each other. Your fellowship experience allows you to educate our regional obstetric providers during lectures and simulation drills.
-
We’ll adapt our curriculum to your needs with added rotations and other learning opportunities to best prepare you for your future practice.
We’re here to answer your questions about our fellowship.
