Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Patients & Visitors
If you’re visiting our care facilities in West Union and neighboring communities, we’re here to help. You’ll find resources here or we’re available to answer your questions.
Expert care, close to home
While it’s important to focus on our patient’s medical needs and comfort during recovery, there’s another benefit to being close to home at Gundersen Palmer. Your family and friends can visit without the long commute, so you can spend more time with your loved ones while you’re in our care.
Visiting our locations
We welcome you to visit our hospital and clinics, but it’s important you review our visitor guidelines to protect our healing environment.
You’re welcome to visit your loved one at any time. If you're visiting our hospital after 8 pm, enter through the Emergency entrance. To keep our patients safe, we encourage you to call your loved one if you're ill or have been in contact with an illness.
Get well deliveries
If you’re sending mail, flowers or care packages to a patient, we’ll make sure it gets to the correct room.
Meals & vending
We offer room service for patients and caregivers between 7 am and 5:30 pm. Our dietary staff can help with restrictions. You can order a meal for a patient from home by calling (563) 422-3811.
You can also visit our cafeteria on the lower level of the health center from 6 am to 6 pm, while vending options are available 24/7.
For those who seek solace, we welcome you to our meditation chapel. Our staff can help if you’re looking to connect with a leader of your faith.
We invite you to visit our hospital gift shop between 8 am and 4 pm weekdays. Currently, we don’t accept credit cards.
If you’re visiting a loved one in our care and need a place to rest, we can help. Call (563) 422-3811 for recommendations.
If you're visiting our locations for a wellness lab, bring your consent form to save time during your visit.
