You are welcome here

On this life journey, there are no single solutions, stories or truths. We are a collection of truths and stories coming together to create solutions.

As a healthcare system, we are working collaboratively to close health disparities and foster an environment where our patients, families, staff and community members bring their authentic selves, perform their best and feel a strong sense of belonging. When you join us, you will see our collective efforts through education, celebration, collaboration and innovation.

Community connection

We’re ingrained in our communities, building health and improving the quality of life for people here at home. At Gundersen, we:

  • Bring together survivors and supporters to find answers to breast cancer
  • Invest in education, research and equipment that leads to better outcomes
  • Mentor and help nourish the youngest members of our neighborhoods
  • Connect patients to the help they need when they need it through mobile clinics and street medicine
Participants walking for breast cancer awareness.

Global impact

We care about our patients and we care about our planet. In 2014, we became the first healthcare system in the country to become energy independent by producing more energy than we consume. Gundersen's environmental program Envision® continues to find new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and protect our air and water sources. It's these efforts that create a more inheritable world for all of us.

Project SEARCH

We’re a strong supporter of Project SEARCH, a program that prepares young people with disabilities to enter the workforce. Students aged 18 to 21 are invited to join us for a 9-month program, during which they’ll gain real-world employment skills and work toward independence. Participants, or interns, spend 10 weeks in 3 departments, from Cardio-Pulmonary to Security, learning the fundamentals of becoming an employee. The aim of the program is to prepare interns for employment upon graduation, and we are proud to have Project SEARCH graduates working at Gundersen. This program is open to all, and if you know of a student who may be eligible for Project SEARCH, please visit the Holmen School District for more information.
