Well-child visits
Even if your child is healthy, don’t lose sight of well-child visits—recommended from birth into adulthood. It’s your chance to check in on your child’s physical and mental health, stay up-to-date on immunizations and discuss any age-related concerns. Most insurance plans, including BadgerCare, cover 100% of exam charges.
Choosing a provider for my child
You have choices when it comes to your child’s primary care provider (PCP). You may choose a pediatrician, pediatric nurse practitioner or family medicine doctor. We suggest calling your preferred Gundersen Clinic location to see which providers are seeing new patients.
Adolescent care
Well-child visits during adolescence provide your child with an opportunity to take added responsibility over their own health and wellness. Starting at the 12-year-old well visit, your child will also complete a survey on their own and talk to their provider 1-on-1 for part of their visit.
Vision
When your child has trouble seeing, it affects more than just their vision. It can also affect their learning and development. Identifying vision problems early offers the best chance to correct the problem. Talk to your child’s primary care provider if you have questions.
Dental Specialties
Are you looking for a kid-friendly dentist or orthodontist? You’ll find both at Gundersen! From regular check-ups and cleanings to orthodontic issues and braces, we’re here to create healthy smiles that last a lifetime.
24-Hour Nurse Line
Anytime you need health advice or information for your child or family, our telephone nurse advisors are here with answers. No concern is too big or too small. We’ll explain how to treat your child’s symptoms from home or direct you to the right department to seek additional care.
Resources & Classes
Parenting is the most challenging job that you'll never receive formal training for. Because kids don't come with instruction manuals, it helps to have resources and support available at your fingertips.
Immunizations
Immunizations are one of the best ways to protect your child against dangerous childhood diseases. It’s important to follow a regular schedule and make sure your child is immunized at the right time. Talk to your doctor about the right vaccinations for your child.
