Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation focuses on exercise training, education and counseling for people who have heart problems. Our cardiac rehab staff will develop a rehab program aimed at improving your overall health and reducing your risk of future heart problems.

Our nationally certified program helps individuals restore and maintain their highest level of function with exercise and lifestyle education with:

  • Outreach cardiology clinics available four times each month
  • Echocardiograms
  • Exercise testing
  • Mobile Cardiac Testing: Holters, Events, MCOTs

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation utilizes exercise and education to improve the quality of life for those who have chronic breathing conditions. We’ll develop an exercise plan that will allow you to function better in your day-to-day life.

At Gundersen Palmer Lutheran, we offer:

  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
  • Sleep study testing
  • Respiratory education for:
    • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
    • Asthma
    • Smoking cessation
    • Metered dose inhaler instruction
    • Sleep apnea and treatment

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapy experts evaluate and treat injury or disease in the musculoskeletal system. We aim to help patients experience decreased pain and return to their maximal level of function through exercise, posture instruction, body mechanics training, joint and soft tissue mobilization as well as use of pain-relieving modalities such as ultrasound and iontophoresis.

Our Occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants help people get back to meaningful activities of daily life (such as self-care skills, education, work, or social interaction) despite impairments or limitations in physical or mental functioning.

Speech Therapy

Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults. SLPs work with the full range of human communication and swallowing disorders for individuals of all ages.

Our SLPs can help with:

  • Articulation delays and speech sounds
  • Language delays
  • Voice disorders
  • Fluency disorders and stuttering
  • Aphasia after a stroke
  • Swallowing issues
  • Motor speech disorders
