How to apply

Apply Oct. 1 through Dec. 1 through RF-PTCAS, a centralized application service for residency and fellowship education programs accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). You’re eligible to apply for our residency if you:

  • Graduated from an accredited master’s or doctoral entry-level physical therapy program
  • Completed a Medical Emergency Response course sponsored by the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy or equivalent
  • Have or applied for your Wisconsin Physical Therapy license. Candidates from entry-level physical therapy programs may apply for a temporary licensure that allows you to practice under the supervision of a licensed PT until you pass the board examination.

Applicant selection

Residency administrators, faculty and current residents will meet virtually with our top applicants. During the interview, applicants will discuss a simulated patient scenario and deliver a 20-minute presentation on a research area they would like to explore during the residency. Applicants will also share why they’re drawn to the topic, a literature review and methodology.
