State-of-the-art medical education training

Used as an icehouse for the Gund Brewery in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the building has transformed into a technologically advanced center for training and education that has enhanced Gundersen’s reputation as a national leader in healthcare.

The ICE House provides simulation resources and shares best practices in healthcare education through a safe, interactive patient care environment for learners of all education levels. The lower-level Simulation Lab houses the Cleary-Kumm Simulation and Training Lab with a Mock Operating Room and a Skills Lab and the Ernest Micek Family Robotic Simulation Lab, where providers sharpen their skills through technology and practice. Our venue features 4 simulated patient exam rooms and an education space for 240 learners who can learn from patient simulation, standardized patient scenarios and specialized skills training.
