Job Shadows & Observations Application

You can apply for a job shadow if you are at least 16 years old. Job shadows are limited to 1-5 experiences ranging from 2-8 hours per experience. You can apply now for job shadows at our affiliate locations in Boscobel, Wabasha, West Union, Whitehall, Friendship, Prairie du Chien, Hillsboro, Sparta or Tri-State Ambulance. 

You can apply for observation hours if you are at least 18 years old, currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and have an educational requirement for your course, program and/or application process.  Observation hours are generally limited to 60.  

Whether you are applying for a job shadow or an observation experience, the application process and forms are the same for both.

• Once the forms (see below for Steps to Apply) are returned to Gundersen, you'll receive an email from [email protected] confirming that the application has been received.
• The forms will be reviewed for accuracy.  
  • If anything is missing, we'll reach out to you.
  • If all paperwork is acceptable, we'll begin connecting with departments to identify dates, times and a mentor who can provide the experience that you're seeking. This process can take up to two weeks.
• After we hear back from the department regarding your job shadow or observation, we'll reach out to you to inform you of your next steps.
