St. Joseph's Memorial Foundation was established in 1984 for the sole purpose of supporting the programs and services of Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics locally in our region.
Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics has been serving the people of Elroy, Hillsboro, Wonewoc and surrounding communities for more than sixty years. Its vision is to build community partnerships that ensure lifelong commitments to healthcare advancement, personal well-being and improvement throughout St. Joseph's service area.
All contributions are greatly appreciated, tax-deductible, and recognized by the Foundation.
Ways to donate
Consider making a donation. The Foundation provides funds for new equipment, facility improvement, and special projects that improve healthcare for you, your family, and your community—programs and equipment that are possible because of the generosity of people like you. As you know, in charitable giving, people often see how advantageous and rewarding it can be to include their favorite charities in their plans. St. Joseph's Memorial Foundation can provide an opportunity that they may not be aware of as they consider in their future plans.
There are several ways to make a gift to the Foundation that will leave a legacy of quality healthcare.
You can make a gift right now that is unrestricted and will be used to fund areas of greatest need, or work with the director to designate your gift to a particular project or fund.
Gifts can be made by donating:
- Cash or checks
- Stocks or bonds
- Property
The Memorial Garden
Gundersen St. Joseph’s receives donations in memory of members of our community who have passed. These gifts often come from multiple donors in memory of a single individual. St. Joseph’s memorial garden is an opportunity to recognize these gifts, and the memory of those we love, with a sculptural flower.
Remember or honor someone
Memorials provide lasting recognition of deceased friends and loved ones. Memorial can also be established so that others may donate.
Honor gifts are a way to celebrate life, recognize a special person or life event, or express good wishes. These gifts are wonderful ways to mark marriages, anniversaries, birthdays, or say thank you to volunteers, doctors, or nurses.
Multi-year pledges
Multi-year pledges allow the donor to make a larger gift and to determine a manageable donation schedule. The Foundation benefits from a solid, predictable base of support.
The Foundation can also assist with planned giving
Planned gifts offer several benefits to the donor, including providing an ongoing income stream, easing your current tax liability, and reducing capital gains tax or future estate tax. Deferred gifts can support the Foundation without impact on your current income or lifestyle. Donors can designate the Foundation as a beneficiary of retirement plan assets or life insurance policies.
Planned gifts also include gifts through your will, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, life estate contracts, charitable lead trusts, and pooled income funds. Please contact your financial advisor for details. Bequests from a properly executed will, living trust, inter vivos trust, or testamentary trust will be accepted in accord with the donor's wishes and in accord with the mission and purposes of the Foundation. The Board reserves the right to refuse all or part of any bequest that does not serve to further the missions of the Hospital or the Foundation, or for any other reason determined by the Board. All donations are recognized and are used for the benefit of the Hospital and its patients and staff.
Donating to the foundation directly assists St. Joseph's in carrying out its mission. Gifts contribute to patients receiving optimal care and services. They also contribute to community health education and special events for the public.
I'm sure you or a family member has asked questions like:
- "How can I best benefit my heirs and the community after I'm gone?"
- "Can I leave money to my favorite charities?"
- "What are my options in making a difference?"
These questions concern most of us. And, the answers are as individual as the person who asks them and to their passion for leaving a legacy. For more information or to make a contribution, contact Dan Howard at (608) 489-8259 or via email [email protected]
