Makes 9 rolls

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 package instant yeast (or 2 ¼ tsp.)
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg

Filling:

  • ¼ cup (half stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2-3 Tbsp. milk or coffee

Preparation

In large bowl mix flour, sugar, salt and east together until evenly dispersed. Set aside. In a small microwavable bowl, heat water, milk and butter together until butter is melted (30-45 seconds). Stir butter mixture into flour mixture. Add egg and knead with hand or stand mixer for 3-4 minutes or until dough is no longer stickly. Place in a lightly greased bwol and let rest for 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 200°. Turn oven off 10 minutes before putting rolls in oven. Roll dough out in a 15x9 rectangle. Spread soft butter on top. In small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle evenly over butter. Roll dough tightly and cut into 9 large, even pieces. Place in sprayed 9x9 pan. Lightly cover with aluminum foil. Turn off oven 10 minutes before placing rolls in oven and allow dough to rise in oven for 20 minutes with foil on.

Remove foil. Turn oven to 375° and bake rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven. Prepare glaze by mixing sugar, vanilla and milk or coffee together until lump-free. Drizzle over warm rolls. Serve.
