Ingredients
- 1 large white or yellow onion, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. of olive oil
- 2 lbs. ground turkey (93% lean)
- ½ cup of finely chopped red onion
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. of pepper
- 2 tsp. of minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. of dried thyme
Preparation
Place a medium sauté pan over medium to high heat with one tablespoon of olive oil. When the when the pan is heated up, add the sliced onion and allow to cook for five minutes at this heat. Then reduce the heat to low-medium and continue until the onions become caramelized.
Mix together the ground turkey, red onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic and thyme with a mixing spoon or your hands. Form 8 patties (4 ounces a piece). Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Once the grill is hot, you can place your burger patties on and cook each side for 5-7 minutes. Cook until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
