1 ½ cups quick rolled oats
¾ cup sunflower kernels
½ cup dried cherries
¼ cup ground flax
¼ cup whole wheat flour*
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8X8 in square baking pan

In a large bowl combine rolled oats, sunflower kernels, dried cherries, flax, whole wheat flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.

In a medium pot, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar and honey and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until well mixed and press into the baking pan.

Bake 25-30 minutes or until slightly browned around the edges. Remove from the oven and gently press the surface of the bars with a spoon. Score into 16 bars. Wait until the bars completely cooled to cut them all the way through.
