Makes 13 cups mix or 26 servings (½ cup each)

Ingredients

  • 6 ½ cups quick oats
  • 3 ¼ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 ½ cup non-fat dry milk
  • ¼ cup flax seed
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup wheat germ

Preparation

Mix together all ingredients. Store in air-tight container. Keeps for 3 months.

To make the oatmeal: Put ½ cup of mix in breakfast bowl. Add ½ cup of water and cook on high in microwave for one minute and 30 seconds.

Optional: Add 1 Tbsp. pecans and 1 Tbsp. raisins, or other ingredients to taste.

Nutrition analysis per serving: 155 calories, 3 g fat, 7 g protein, 27 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 35 mg sodium.
