Can I be tested if I do not have symptoms of COVID-19?

Yes. We offer tests whether you have symptoms of COVID-19 or simply need to be screened to travel or return to school or work.

What kind of test is used?

We use a nasal swab test. This type is the most accurate, making it unlikely you'll receive a false positive or negative.

When do I get results?

While we're working to get COVID-19 test results in a day or less for those who need them right away—frontline medical staff and hospitalized patients, to name a couple—it may take 24 to 48 hours for those who do not require them immediately. Thank you for your patience.

How will I get my results?

You will find your COVID-19 test results in MyChart. If your test is positive, you will also find information on how to manage your symptoms and isolation and quarantine guidelines. Patients will receive their result via MyChart of letter in the mail if they do not have MyChart.

If your test is negative for COVID-19, you can find results in MyChart and in a mailed letter.

Important vaccination information for you

Vaccination is your best defense against COVID-19. To protect yourself and others, it’s important to receive the maximum number of vaccine doses for your age and risk. Gundersen is supplied with all vaccine types for each age and risk group. Make sure you stay up to date on your vaccine doses.

  • We welcome Gundersen patients and non-patients ages 6 months and older for the vaccine at our locations.
  • At our Onalaska Clinic, vaccine appointments are available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Schedule an appointment on MyChart or by calling (608) 775-6829.
  • For other locations, please call the Gundersen facility closest to home for vaccine scheduling details.
