Emplify Health by Gundersen transitions 211 information and referral service
Emplify Health by Gundersen will be transitioning its 211 information and referral services to trusted partners, effective Dec. 31, 2025. This decision comes after a thorough evaluation of the changing landscape in how people access community resources and information.
For 50 years, Emplify Health by Gundersen has been the only health system in the La Crosse area to provide 211 services. Community members can still call 211, which will be managed by state partners.
"We're grateful for the dedication and compassion the 211 team has shown so many people over the years. With this legacy of service and the Emplify Health by Gundersen mission, our dedication to the health and well-being of the people and communities in our care will not change," shares Tina Lechnir, Emplify Health by Gundersen vice president of cross-functional care. "We have comprehensive resources available, including Emplify Health by Gundersen Community Link, which provides a list of local and regional resources by zip code."
Emplify Health by Gundersen Community Resource Connectors use Community Link data and information patients provide during appointments to offer essential assistance. This information can be added into electronic health records for patients in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Iowa for even deeper care and support for people. Comprehensive Emplify Health by Gundersen services also include a 24-hour nurse line, social services, behavioral health and many more.
Community members can still call 211 Wisconsin and related services in Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan, along with the national 211 service, for support and connected referrals to Emplify Health by Gundersen and other local resources. Additional local, regional and national resources are also available, including, but not limited to:
