The Pharmacy Residency blends inpatient and outpatient experiences in a 325-bed teaching hospital and multi-specialty group practice, one of the largest in the nation. Gundersen Health System's PGY1 Pharmacy Residency offers:

Program Purpose Statement
The Gundersen PGY1 Pharmacy Residency prepares pharmacists to promote safe and effective medication use across the continuum of care, on both a patient-specific and system level. With the guidance of clinician mentors, residents cultivate a philosophy of practice that demonstrates accountability for all aspects of patients' medication use and optimization. Residency graduates are well-equipped for generalist practice in diverse care environments.
Training Site and Program Features
Gundersen Health System is a progressive tertiary referral teaching center with numerous regional clinics of multi-specialty practice in affiliation with the University of Wisconsin. The hospital and clinics serve as clinical training sites for medical, pharmacy, nursing and other allied health professional students and residents. The pharmacy supports a full range of services on a 24-hour basis, with decentralized clinical pharmacist practice in all inpatient care units. Gundersen has a fully integrated electronic health record. The residency program stipend is $50,000.
