About Inpatient Behavioral Health
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 34-bed facility that provides acute mental health services. Patients are supported and protected in a healing environment during their hospitalization. At all times, safety is our primary concern. We encourage patients to keep their daily routines and actively participate in their own care. A team approach provides consistent quality care.
Individualized patient care is designed by the Inpatient Behavioral Health team. Patients are encouraged to participate in establishing goals while hospitalized and progress toward those goals is monitored throughout the hospital stay.
While staying at Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, a patient will be cared for by a variety of staff, including:
- Behavioral Health providers
- Nurses
- Social workers
- Occupational and recreational therapists
- Pastoral Care
- Other specialties as needed

Inpatient visiting hours
12 p.m. (noon) to 6 p.m. daily
Call (608) 775-3523 to schedule a visit. Visits are limited to 30 minutes. Up to two visitors per patient are allowed in the building at one time. There is no limit on the number of visitors allowed in a 24-hour period. Children under age 16 may visit; however, children must be with and supervised by an adult.
Our partial hospitalization program for adults
This voluntary adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment through group therapy, skill-building strategies and personalized care. Participants can expect to engage in the program between 10 and 15 days, returning home to their families each evening.
