Position Definitions

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

A CNA works under the supervision of a licensed nurse and provides assistance to Nursing Home Residents with their daily activities of living such as dressing, grooming and bathing. The CNA also provides emotional and social support to these individuals.

Restorative Aid (RA)

The RA works under the supervision of a professional nurse and may work in conjunction with persons who provide physical or occupational therapy.

Trained Medication Aid (TMA)

A TMA may administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse and provide assistance to licensed nurses in the provision of minor treatments that do not require nursing assessment or observation on a regular basis.

Charge Nurse

An LPN works under the direction of an RN. The Charge Nurse administers medications and treatments, monitors health and oversees the daily care of the facility residents. They also contributes to the resident plan of care and interacts with the interdisciplinary team, residents and family members on a regular basis to maintain a plan that is resident centered and up to date. The Charge Nurse is recognized as the front-line team leader for each shift.

Nurse Manager

Registered Nurse (RN) – The Nurse Manager is responsible for the periodic and on-going assessments and observations of resident condition for the completion of the MDS and development of the nursing plan of care. The Nurse Manager is accountable to be sure that the interdisciplinary team participates and completes the comprehensive assessments required for the MDS and the patient centered care plan that follows. The Nurse Manager will have frequent interactions with residents, family members, interdisciplinary team members and Medical Providers. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance is important. Computer literacy is a must. The Nurse Manager may also be called upon to provide support in the direct care of residents and may need to provide occasional on-call assistance to the nursing staff.

Housekeeping

Cleans all resident and public areas of facility as assigned and within a timely manner.

Dietary

Dietary Cook
Food service experience is preferred, prepares meals as directed following standard recipes and menus of facility. Follow Food Safety rules, facility, state and federal rules and regulations.

Dietary Aide
Performs various job tasks such as serving residents meals and beverages, washing dishes, stocking of items in kitchen and pantries, setting tables, clearing tables, assigned cleaning.
