We're here to support you

We know a child’s illness can be overwhelming. We also know managing the condition can be expensive. CMN Hospitals is here to provide support for families with children facing illness, trauma and disability. We help families living in our 25-county service area, no matter where they receive care. We help provide support that is otherwise unavailable for equipment, services, technology, camps and more. We do not fund items or services covered by insurance or other social programs. Requests are subject to an income and expense assessment. Let’s see how we can help your family by reviewing our instructions on how to apply for a grant. Our CMN Hospitals Heroes

Five children serving as CMNH heroes at kickoff event.

Each year, 5 local families champion our work by sharing their stories of strength with you. Thanks to donors like you, we've supported these kids and their families on their journeys through cancer, medical complexities, premature birth and more. They’re our Heroes – and they’ll be yours, too. Give kids every chance to be a kid. Put your money where the miracles are by donating now

Trey & Brynleigh, Hillsboro, Wis.

Boy and girl siblings smiling.

Even the biggest miracles start small. Trey weighed less than 2 pounds when he arrived 16 weeks early. Brynleigh arrived 2 years later, but earlier than expected at 27 weeks. During those early days, CMN Hospitals was there. The micro-preemies spent their first few months of life under the skilled care of our NICU team, growing into the Heroes they are today.

Eduardo, Onalaska, Wis.

Teenage boy wearing glasses.

Eduardo’s unexplained shortness of breath led to a devastating diagnosis: the elementary schooler had Leukemia. He entered remission after a successful round of chemotherapy, but his battle wasn’t over. The cancer returned. Eduardo fought back with another round of chemotherapy and CMN Hospitals at his side. Today, he’s an active teenager living without cancer. He’s a Hero.

Charlie, Viola, Wis.

Boy smiling wearing glasses and braces.

As Charlie grew from infant to toddler, his parents noticed a delay in his motor skills. He didn't have as much muscle tone and struggled with balance when he began walking. A genome sequencing test revealed Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy. CMN Hospitals was there through it all and Charlie still visits our specialists with a level of determination that makes him a Hero.

Amanda, Houston, Minn.

Teenage girl in wheelchair smiling.

Genetic testing led Amanda’s parents to Gundersen, where they discovered their children were 2 of only 1,000 FoxG1 Syndrome cases worldwide. Amanda and brother Jared experienced the same physical and cognitive challenges until Jared lost his fight in 2021. With the support of CMN Hospitals, Amanda fights for both of them. She’s Jared’s hero. She’s our Hero, too.
