24/7 emergency care

Illnesses and injuries can happen at any time. That’s why we deliver expert around-the-clock emergency and urgent care at our hospital in Boscobel.

We treat patients of all ages at our hospital, a Level IV Certified Trauma Center and Wisconsin Coverdell Stroke Hospital.

Our emergency department is staffed 24/7 by board-certified physicians and registered nurses who are specially trained in advanced cardiac life support and trauma care. You may also receive care from our radiology technologists and lab technicians.

We offer state-of-the-art imaging diagnostics, 24-hour neurologist access through telemedicine and clot-busting medication when warranted, neonatal care and telepsychiatry support for mental health crisis evaluation and intervention.

If you or a loved one needs extra care outside Boscobel, we transfer patients to a larger medical center.

Urgent Care

Also known as walk-in care, Urgent Care offers evaluation and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries outside of clinic hours or when you are unable to get an appointment with your primary care provider.

Urgent Care is like an extension of your doctor’s office for treatments that don’t require an emergency room visit, such as:

  • Cuts, scrapes and bruises
  • Ear pain/infection
  • Fever, colds and flu
  • Sinus and upper respiratory infections
  • Skin rashes, insect bites and minor burns
  • Sore/strep throat
  • Strains and sprains
  • Sudden back or neck pain
  • Urinary burning

Urgent Care wait times vary depending on the number of patients visiting and their needs. We deliver care to all patients as soon as we’re able. You should know that your Urgent Care visit may elevate to Emergency based on your evaluation.

Prescriptions available

InstyMeds is an automatic prescription medication dispenser available 24/7 for patients who need prescriptions after an Emergency or Urgent Care visit. It works similar to a vending machine and allows you to access medicine when your local pharmacy is closed. We send prescriptions to the machine, which calculates co-pays and deductibles. You can pay by cash, credit or debit card.

Swing bed care

Some patients need more time to recover and recuperate after hospitalization or surgery. Swing Bed by Medicare is the perfect transitional care for those who no longer need inpatient acute care but still need some rehab and/or nursing help before they can go home safely and on their own.

Our Swing Bed program provides a unique combination of independence, personalization and experienced care. Our multidisciplinary care team is dedicated to helping our patients improve their quality of life in an environment of warmth and support.

If you have questions about transitional care, call (608) 375-4112.
