Occupational therapist joins Gundersen Tri-County

Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics welcomes Steph Shannon, OTR/L, to its Occupational Therapy team in Whitehall.

Steph Shannon, OTR/L

"I enjoy the variety of settings and patients that I get to work with every day," Shannon said. "At Tri-County, we see patients in the skilled nursing, inpatient and outpatient settings, so we really get to challenge and further develop our skill sets."

Shannon earned her undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation after observing occupational therapists in the field. She went on to earn her master's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

It's Shannon's goal to equip patients with the skills they need to regain independence and remain safe in their daily lives.

That could include a combination of self-care retraining, adaptive equipment education, strengthening exercises, range of motion/stretching exercises, dynamic balance activities, wheelchair positioning/management, durable medical equipment recommendations and more.

For more information on Occupational Therapy, visit our website or call (715) 538-1713 to make an appointment.
