  • Infection checks
  • Contraception
  • Abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Fibroids
  • Endometriosis
  • Preconception visits
  • Loop electrosurgical excision procedure
  • Colposcopy
  • Vulvar skin conditions

The services build on those already offered for women at Gundersen Tri-County, including pap smears, breast exams, ultrasounds and mammograms.

"Primary care providers do a wonderful job of taking care of many women in the area, but if a referral is needed to obstetrics or gynecology, it's convenient for them to receive the care in Whitehall," Dr. Vircks says.

Alacia and Dr. Vircks say it's important to offer personalized, expanded care close to home and look forward to connecting with patients through annual visits and during pregnancy.

"What I love most about midwifery is promoting women's health across their lifespan – from preconception planning through a pregnancy down the line and seeing her yearly for well woman exams. I love getting to know women and their families," says Alacia, who is fluent in Spanish. "I hope to continue to see many familiar faces in the Tri-County area, but also meet new faces and develop relationships with these women and their families for years to come."
