Pediatric Primary Care
Your child's primary care provider specializes in taking care of your child's overall health and well-being. They know your family and your child's medical history best.
As a parent or caregiver, you get to pick whether your child sees a family medicine physician or a pediatrician. No matter which healthcare provider you choose, you can count on care that is:
From birth through adolescence, your child's primary care provider sees your child for preventive care including well visits and immunizations, and also for illnesses, injuries and management of ongoing health conditions.
Your child's primary care provider manages all your child's care and can help you navigate the healthcare system, calling on hospital or pediatric specialty services, if needed.
In addition to family medicine providers who care for children at all our medical clinics, we also have pediatricians in La Crosse, Onalaska and Tomah. They can often see your child the same day he or she is ill, with evening and weekend hours available in some locations.
This complete, coordinated and convenient model of care is known as your Medical Home. Many Gundersen primary care locations have achieved national recognition status as a Patient-centered Medical Home.
