New Gundersen therapist seeing patients in Sparta and Tomah
Tuesday, November 07, 2017

Scott Klaeser, LPC, is rejoining Gundersen Health System, caring for behavioral health patients as a licensed professional counselor. Klaeser is a dual licensed provider treats addictions and mental health concerns for adults. He is joining Gundersen's Sparta and Tomah Behavioral Health locations.

"What I'm most looking forward to in my new role at Gundersen is the opportunity to offer longer-term therapy again, helping individuals and couples improve their well-being in whatever capacity and path that may take," he says.

Klaeser was born and raised in Milwaukee and moved to the La Crosse area in 1981 to attend UW-La Crosse. He's lived and worked in the area ever since including many years caring for Gundersen patients.

"I began my career at Gundersen 1986 working in the outpatient programs," says Klaeser. "During that time, I participated in adolescent alcohol and drug programming, intensive adult alcohol and drug programming, numerous group therapies, and individual and outpatient therapies consisting of mental health therapy for marriage and family issues."

"I have missed doing longer-term outpatient counseling," he continues. "When the opportunity recently presented to return to work at Gundersen as an outpatient dual-diagnosis therapist, I gratefully accepted the position."

A counselor with many years of experience, Klaeser offers outpatient clinical therapy which includes:

  • Marriage and couples therapies
  • Family therapies
  • Individual mental health counseling
  • Addiction counseling and more.

To schedule with Klaeser, call Gundersen Tomah Clinic at (608) 374-3853 or (608) 269-3141 in Sparta.
