Gundersen opens Eye Clinic in Richland Center

Gundersen Health System's new eye clinic in Richland Center opened for business on Monday, Oct. 17. The clinic, located at 165 W. Haseltine Street, offers optometry and ophthalmology care and a full service optical store.

Gundersen purchased the clinic from Dean Health System, who owned and operated the location as Davis Duehr Dean – Richland Center since 2000.

"We believe it is important for residents in and around Richland Center to receive their eye care as close to home as possible," explains Bryan Erdmann, Gundersen vice president. "Our purchase of this location helps ensure that. We're looking forward to meeting the patients who trusted Dean with their care, and welcome any new patients who would like to get to know our caregivers at Gundersen."

Bradford Walker, OD and the staff from Davis Duehr Dean joined Gundersen and will continue to provide optometry services and support patients. Dr. Walker also has access to patient medical records and health histories for any and all future care patients receive.

Erdmann continued, "Gundersen accepts a wider variety of insurance plans than Dean, which will benefit more individuals in Richland Center and the surrounding area who need eye care. In conjunction with the clinic purchase, we have developed a relationship with The Richland Hospital Inc., to provide some surgical eye procedures."

Warranties and services for eyeglasses and contact lenses remained the same despite the sale. In addition, patients will call the same number to reach the clinic: (608) 647-8995.

An open house and eyewear sale (including some new styles) for the new clinic is set for Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to tour the clinic, meet and talk with staff and enjoy refreshments.
