Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics welcomes Charlene Gald, a licensed clinical social worker, to its primary care team. A lifelong resident of southwest Wisconsin, Charlene earned her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has worked with patients of all ages.

“My role at Gundersen Boscobel will allow me to apply previous work experiences and channel my passion and skills to support established patients best navigate their anxiety, chronic conditions, stressors, depression and grief, to name a few,” Charlene said.

Charlene joins behavioral health provider, Nicole Steldt, LCSW, and will provide counseling services under the Collaborative Care model. The model closes the gap between mind and body and focuses on comprehensive whole-person care. Under this model, primary care and behavioral health providers work together to improve patient outcomes. Collaborative Care offers better care for established patients, increased patient and provider satisfaction, and lower total medical costs.

“I look forward to partnering with the exceptional primary care team at Gundersen Boscobel and pooling our knowledge and unique expertise,” Charlene said. “Together, we can more fully support the physical and mental well-being of our patients in Boscobel, Fennimore, Muscoda, and the surrounding communities.”

When not seeing patients, Charlene enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons who are involved in sports, dance, harness racing, hunting and fishing.

You’ll need a referral from your doctor to schedule a visit with Charlene. Call (608) 375-4144 to make an appointment with your primary care provider
