Gundersen offering new COVID bivalent vaccine booster

Gundersen Health System has received a limited supply of the new Pfizer bivalent COVID vaccine. For the Pfizer bivalent vaccine, anyone 12 years and up is eligible at least two months after the primary series or prior booster. When Moderna bivalent vaccine is available, anyone 18 years of age or older can receive this bivalent vaccine at least two months after the primary series or prior booster.

Patients and non-patients interested in the new booster can schedule an appointment at the Gundersen Vaccine Clinic, located on level 4 of the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic by calling (608) 775-6829.

Several Gundersen regional clinics and local pharmacies also have supply of the Pfizer and Moderna bivalent COVID vaccine. Contact the locations nearest you for more information.

As flu season approaches, Gundersen recommends receiving the flu vaccine and the COVID bivalent booster at the same time if available.

Gundersen’s Flu Shot Clinics open Oct. 17. Flu vaccines are currently available at Gundersen during a patient’s wellness visit.
