Non-surgical joint and spine care now available at Gundersen Moundview
Friday, July 19, 2019

Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics has expanded its specialty services to provide care for those with joint and spine pain.

Anna Batterson, DO, and Natalie Pomranke, PA-C, offer specialized care for patients with pain due to shoulder, hip, knee, back, neck, elbow, hand or wrist disorders. This might include:

  • Radiculopathy or nerve pain (sometimes referred to as "sciatica")
  • Muscle and soft tissue pain
  • Bursa pain
  • Tendon pain
  • Arthritis or joint pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

Dr. Batterson and Pomranke can diagnose the source of pain and offer nonsurgical treatment recommendations for relief or refer patients to other specialists for more advanced treatment, if needed.

"We are able to help primary care providers care for patients with chronic joint and spine conditions who may be avoiding surgery, do not have a good surgical option or are not able to have surgery due to other medical conditions," Dr. Batterson said. "We can help bridge the gap between primary care management of these conditions and Orthopedic/Neurosurgical treatment of these conditions. It is often best to try conservative options prior to considering surgical options."

Dr. Batterson and Pomranke will see patients twice monthly at the Friendship Clinic.
