Foundation dinner and auction is a success

Over $76,000 was raised through Moundview Memorial Healthcare Foundation's 26th Annual Dinner and Auction at Connell's Cedar Shack on Saturday, March 2, 2019. The event included numerous raffles and auctions with proceeds benefiting Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics.

"We are grateful for the generosity and support of the community and sponsors of this event," said Frank Perez-Guerra, CEO at Gundersen Moundview. "The money raised will stay local to help fund the purchase of new, state-of-the-art surgical equipment for the hospital. I'm also very grateful to the Foundation Board, Aaron Bonnett, Tammy Lowrey, and all the staff and volunteers that participate in making this event a success."

Harvey Wagner, life-long resident of Adams County, received the inaugural "Lifetime Community Dedication" award at the event. He has been a long-time supporter of the hospital, foundation and community as a whole. The award recognizes his dedication and generosity to the Adams-Friendship area. Several friends and family members donated to the event in Harvey's name and were present to see him receive the award.

"It could not be more fitting to give this inaugural award to Harvey Wagner," said Aaron Bonnett, Executive Director of Moundview Memorial Healthcare Foundation. "He has long lived by the motto of "give back to the community more than what you've taken from it."

Wagner was honored to receive the award, noting the community is fortunate to have hospital services in a rural area.

"Gundersen Moundview provides essential emergency and health care services in our community in addition to creating local jobs, both directly and indirectly" said Wagner. "I am especially grateful for the hospital as I've personally had to use its emergency services."

Moundview Memorial Healthcare Foundation and Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics thank all of the individuals and businesses who contributed to this year's Dinner and Auction.

The Foundation's next fundraiser is the Annual Golf Benefit on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Northern Bay Golf Course.  For more information, please call (608) 339-8391 or 339-8328.
