Gundersen Health System's Child Care Center, in cooperation with GROW La Crosse, has an on-site garden that serves as a creative, hands-on learning environment for the children, ages 2 to 12. The garden program was made possible with a grant from Gundersen Medical Foundation.
The children are engaging their sense of curiosity as they plant seeds, watch seedlings grow, investigated creatures living in the garden, even taste a 'rainbow' of colors from the garden. During gardening sessions, GROW staff lead the kids in lessons based around nature, life cycles, growing the garden and making healthy food choices.
This is just one of the many community enrichment programs funded by Gundersen Medical Foundation. To learn more or donate, please visit gundersenhealth.org/Foundation.
