Most people who choose a career in healthcare do so because they are passionate about helping people and they choose to make a meaningful difference through their work. That's also the motivation behind the current Gundersen Employee iGive Campaign.

Gundersen employees are choosing to invest in Gundersen to make a difference in the work they do, the patients they care for and the communities where they work and live.

Employees are making gifts to Gundersen Medical Foundation during the iGive fundraising campaign throughout May. With their donations, they select which funds they wish to support. There are a variety of high-need, high-impact funds providing for medical education, research, community health and wellness, patient financial assistance, patient care and education, global healthcare partners, and so much more.

Gundersen employee, Deb Frye, Center for Breast Care, says, "I donate to Paula's Purse because I know my gifts will come back to support many of the cancer patients I help care for." Paula's Purse is a fund available to help Gundersen patients who have cancer, to use for emergent financial needs like transportation, heat, rent or child care during their treatments.

"I've witnessed the great work the Foundation does to make sure we can provide the best care," explains Vance Fishel, Gundersen Respiratory Care. "We have two new high frequency ventilators to help our patients thanks to the support of the Foundation. We also receive Foundation funds for continuing medical education for our respiratory therapists so, in turn, our therapist can provide even better care for our patients."

"We're investing in ourselves—we make gifts to the Foundation—because we believe in what we do. To continue to provide the best possible care, we invest in the programs, training, equipment and facilities to go above and beyond for our patients and community," says Brady Lowe, Gundersen Medical Foundation.

Gundersen Employees are giving back and paying it forward during the iGive Gundersen Employee Campaign. But public support is always welcome and greatly appreciated, too.
