Safe@Home class
Will your child(ren) stay home alone? Are they prepared to navigate an emergency or deal with an unexpected visitor? Safe@Home is a 90-minute course that teaches youth, ages 10 and up, how to be prepared for staying home alone. In this class, they will learn what to do in situations, such as:
- Fire, gas and power outages
- Weather emergencies
- Unexpected visitors
- Internet use and staying safe online
This class helps youth know what to do when situations arise when they are home alone and offers peace of mind for parents that they have prepared their children.
Class length: 90 minutes | Cost: $15 per student | Upcoming session: TBD
Is this class right for my child?
Choose Safe@Home if your child:
- Is 10 years or older
- Will stay home alone
- Needs to know how to handle emergencies, such as power outages, weather and fires
- Wants to build confidence in being independent
Choose Safe Sitter Babysitting Class if your child:
- Is 11 to 14 years old
- Will watch younger siblings or babysit for other families to earn money
- Needs training in childcare skills and first aid, including choking rescue
- Wants to learn business skills for babysitting
Class length: 4 hours | Cost: $45 per student | Upcoming session: Friday, April 3, 8 a.m.-Noon, 333 Front St., La Crosse, WI (5th floor)
