Dr. Ameen Taleb, Medical Director of E.R./Hospitalist

Ameen Taleb, MD, who specializes in emergency care, is leading the transition to Wapiti Medical Staffing for hospitalist services in the Emergency Department and inpatient needs at Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics.

Dr. Taleb, who serves as a medical director of the Emergency Department and a hospitalist, has a primary practice at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Physician Specialists (ABPS) in Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine (ABRM).

Dr. Taleb is a graduate of National Medical University in Kiev, Ukraine. He completed his residency at Mercy Family Medicine in Mason City, Iowa, and an Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Monroe Clinic.

As an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Taleb provides immediate medical care for patients in the Boscobel Emergency Department, while also providing care to inpatients. He is a leader at Wapiti, the new partner for hospitalist coverage in Boscobel as of February 3.

Wapiti has grown to become a renowned company specializing in staffing emergency departments across the country. It prides itself in placing quality providers in some of the nation's most difficult places.

"Wapiti's motivation has always been and continues to be maintaining close relationships with its providers and its partner facilities. We found that to be of particular importance here in Boscobel as we strive to improve care in our hospital," said Theresa Braudt, administrator, Gundersen Boscobel.

Dr. Taleb is passionate about leading Boscobel's team of ER physicians and hospitalists because it allows him to serve a rural community with a high need for healthcare.

"I want to improve the quality of care provided, increase patient satisfaction, strengthen the operations of the Emergency Department and continue to evolve the team dynamics within the Emergency Department, clinics and the overall health system," Taleb said.
