Amber Crawford, DO

Gundersen Boscobel Hospital and Clinics welcomes board-certified surgeon Amber Crawford, DO, to care for patients needing hernia repairs, appendectomies, colon surgery, colonoscopies, upper endoscopies and other procedures.

Dr. Crawford joins Gundersen Boscobel's expert surgical team that includes general surgeon, Carrie Kramer, MD, Orthopedic surgeon Edward Riley, MD, and Gastroenterologist James Groskreutz, MD.

Dr. Crawford earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines University and completed her residency at Marshfield Clinic's St. Joseph's Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

"Our surgery team is committed to offering an outstanding experience of care, with personalized touches," said Gundersen Boscobel Director of Surgery Brenda Kreul. "We are confident that Amber's experience and values, along with her passion for providing optimal patient-centered care, make her an excellent addition to our local surgical team."

Having a surgical procedure can be stressful for patients and their families. Having them performed locally, where patients are familiar and comfortable with the staff and facility, can help ease that stress.

For procedures offered at other Gundersen locations, such as heart surgery, patients can begin and end their care experience in Boscobel. Patients can be diagnosed close to home, travel only for what is necessary, then return to Boscobel for after care services, such as physical therapy, cardiopulmonary rehab and swing bed.
