Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics is proud to welcome Family Medicine physician Colleen McCurry, MD, to Gundersen Boscobel Clinic and the community.

Dr. McCurry is a family medicine physician who will provide outpatient primary care services to all ages in Boscobel. This includes preventative screenings, well child checks, physicals, acute illnesses and management of chronic medical conditions.

She is thrilled to be caring for people in this area of rural Wisconsin.

"I grew up in Park Ridge, Ill., a northwest suburb of Chicago," she says. "I loved the community but was looking for a life with more time outdoors, less traffic and more time to get to know people. I am excited to meet the people of Boscobel and to partner with them to help them live happy, healthy lives."

Dr. McCurry's husband, Kevin Baker, is a Lutheran pastor and the two have a baby daughter, Aileen. They love spending time outdoors, playing with the family dog, Piper, and they look forward to planting a big vegetable garden.

For Dr. McCurry, Gundersen Boscobel Clinic is a great fit.

"I went into family medicine because I love preventative medicine and taking care of people of all ages," she says. "During my training, I found that I am especially passionate about women's health and taking care of pediatric patients. I hope to bring a unique perspective to the Gundersen Boscobel Clinic as both a female physician and as a mother."

Dr. McCurry was also looking to work in an organization like Gundersen Health System.

"I was hoping to find a physician-led system that truly cares about its patients and employees," she says. "I was introduced to Gundersen by a family friend who has been very happy working there.  I am excited to be working with a system that is constantly reevaluating how to best serve its community's health needs. I have a passion for medicine and look forward to serving my patients for many years to come."

When not busy caring for patients and her own family, Dr. McCurry might be found with knitting needles in hand: she's an avid crafter and knitter and also enjoys crochet and cross stitch. She's a swimmer and was part of a synchronized swimming team back in Chicago.
