Makes 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°. In mixing bowl, using electric mixer, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix to combine.

Using a 1-inch round scoop, drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes but keep an eye on them.

The trick to perfect chocolate chip cookies is to under-bake them! Take them out of the oven just before you think they are done. Allow to cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet; transfer to plate or container for storage.
