- Surgical Care Excellence Award™
What does it mean?
Healthgrades evaluates patient experience based on 9 measures, using data collected from surveys of the hospital’s own patients. Hospitals in the top 15% are recognized as Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ recipients.
“We have nearly 10,000 staff across our region,” Shannon Hulett, Gundersen's director of patient experience says. "I am very proud to share that together, we create the exceptional care experiences that led to once again receiving this recognition. Our quality clinical care is excellent, and we ensure those receiving it experience compassionate personalization, trusted partnership and safe, welcoming environments. "
Gundersen's Patient Experience department recently started sharing its Patient Experience data via a Power BI Patient Experience dashboard. Access to patient experience data allows Gundersen staff to meet patients' needs and achieve targets and WIGS.
Healthgrades methodology
No hospital can opt-in or opt-out of being evaluated by Healthgrades, and no hospital pays to be evaluated. Healthgrades measures hospital performance based on patient outcomes. Their methodologies adjust for each patient’s risk factors, such as age, gender and medical condition.
