Gundersen Sparta Clinic welcomes new provider

Carmen Lezpona, PA-C

Gundersen Sparta Clinic's newest physician assistant grew up just down the road in Onalaska and is thrilled to be caring for patients in Sparta.

Carmen Lezpona, PA-C, provides primary care services to a full spectrum of age groups, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and the elderly population. Some specific services include: well child exams, sports physicals, annual exams and managing both acute and chronic health conditions.

"I feel grateful that I have the opportunity to practice Family Medicine in a small community as part of a nationally recognized health system," says Lezpona. "All of my life, I have received my healthcare through Gundersen Health System."

For Lezpona, it's great to be pursing medicine in the place she calls home. "After attending college and physician assistant school, I knew I wanted to get back to the La Crosse area, where there is such a wonderful sense of community amongst beautiful landscape."

“Ever since I decided to pursue a career in medicine, I imagined myself coming full circle, from being a patient at Gundersen to becoming a clinician who provides the same quality and compassionate care I have received all of my life,” Lezpona continues.

When not busy caring for Sparta patients, Lezpona enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that's on the Mississippi River, on the golf course or working out. She's also a Green Bay Packers fan and likes to play cards and cribbage. She and her fiancé, Tyler, are also chasing after their new puppy, Sammi.

To schedule with Lezpona, call the Gundersen Sparta Clinic at (608) 269-6731.
