Intended Audience: Psychologists, therapists, social workers and other behavioral health professionals. Intermediate to advanced level of instruction is appropriate for each session.
Accreditation: Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center Inc., provider #1089, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. Session 1 – The Biological Basis of Boundaries and Ethical Behavior. This workshop will address the biological roots of human morality and leave participant with a deeper understanding of how to think about, as well as how to manage, ethics in their work and in the lives of their clients.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify three systems of ethical decision making: deontology, utilitarianism, and principlism.
- Recognize the unconscious, yet persuasive nature of making moral choices.
- List the five components of the inborn moral mind.
- Describe how individuals disengage from their ethical standards.
This session is approved for 4 CE/clock hours through your choice of APA or ASWB sponsorship. You must attend the full four-hour session and complete the evaluation to receive credit. Partial credit is not available for this conference.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be requested via email or phone prior to October 8, 2018. A refund minus a $25 administration fee will be issued. No refunds will be made after October 8, 2018.
If the 2018 Behavioral Medicine Conference is postponed or cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of registration fees will be provided. Gundersen Medical Foundation Inc. will not be responsible for any related travel costs to the conference.
