This is an eight-week postpartum class led by Gundersen physical therapists and Y fitness experts. It is a low-intensity class meant for rebuilding belly and pelvic muscles to return to ideal posture and movement; allow for safe return to recreation/exercise; and prevent conditions such as low back pain, bladder control problems and organ prolapse. Participants will learn proper activation of pelvic-stabilizing muscles and proper breathing. Pre- and post-tests will evaluate abdominal muscle separation and pelvic strength. In-class instruction and take-home exercises provided. Timely topics, such as personal identity, relationship changes and caring for yourself and your family will also be discussed. Baby is welcome to attend. Attend this class a minimum of eight weeks postpartum.
