Pediatric Heart Care
No parent wants to hear their child has a heart problem, but if your child does, you want to make sure you're getting the best care possible. At Gundersen Health System, we've combined state-of-the-art technology with the caring touch of our expert physicians and physician assistant to diagnose and treat heart problems in children. Our Pediatric Cardiology specialists care for children with both congenital and acquired heart disease from as early as five months into pregnancy through adulthood.
Our team works closely with pediatricians, family medicine providers, and other pediatric specialists to deliver the best care to our patients and their families. They also work closely with their colleagues in Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Rochester, and Iowa City for necessary surgical procedures. Generally, children can receive all follow-up and long term care at Gundersen.
Diagnostic and treatment options:
Ninety percent of children with congenital heart disease live to adulthood. That's why our specialists work closely with the adult cardiologists for the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic. The clinic addresses the individual needs of patients with mild to complex cases of congenital heart disease.
