How are neuromuscular disorders treated?
While there is no cure for neuromuscular disorders, a variety of treatments exist to help you manage symptoms and maximize your quality of life. Your care team will work together to develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs and preferences. Treatment may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, medications, surgery, infusions (i.e. IVIG) or a combination of these approaches.
What causes neuromuscular disorders?
Often neuromuscular disorders are inherited or the result of a gene mutation. Certain immune system disorders also can cause neuromuscular disorders.
