Gundersen Health System defines community contributions as grants, gifts and sponsorships which are meant to support activities, programs and services linked to Gundersen's mission. The mission statement reads: We distinguish ourselves through excellence in patient care, education, research and improved health in the communities we serve.
As funds are limited, priority consideration will be given to requests that:
- Serve or support needs identified in the Community Health Needs Assessment
- Promote health and wellness
- Provide civic, community and economic development
Gundersen Health System will not provide funding for the following:
- Political activities
- Requests from individuals
- Medical expenses for individuals
- For-profit entities
Your organization must be a verified non-profit organization, school or government agency to receive any funding.
For Gundersen Medical Center La Crosse only - does not apply to the affiliate hospital process.
Gundersen's support for community programs and projects is determined by a committee. The Committee is comprised of representatives from Gundersen's Administration, Community and Preventive Care Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Gundersen Medical Foundation and Partners of Gundersen Health System and the community.
Discussion on support is initiated at the Community Contributions Committee meetings (2018 Meeting Dates: February 5, April 2, June 4, August 6, October 1, December 3). It is important to note that additional processing is necessary, so final decisions and notifications are usually made within 2 weeks of the meeting date.
Please note: Gundersen's "Community Grant Program" application will be closed one week prior to meeting dates.
