Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics along with the Healthy Neighbors Coalition invites you to get out there and take in the beauty of our region by joining them for a paddle on the Kickapoo River, Sunday, Aug. 19 at Drifty's Kayak Rental in Ontario.

"Paddle the Kickapoo" is a community event aimed at encouraging the public to get outside, be active and enjoy what our region has to offer. The event consists of a three-hour gentle paddle on the Kickapoo River starting at Drifty's Kayak Rental in Ontario and ending at Wildcat Mountain State Park. The price is $10 per canoe with a maximum of two adults with two small children (under 60 pounds each) per canoe. Life jackets and paddles will be provided. This event is appropriate for all ranges of ability, from novice to expert. Two separate launch times are provided along with free bussing from Gundersen St. Joseph's. Participants can also drive directly to Drifty's in Ontario.

Bus pick up times are 11 a.m. for a noon launch and noon pick up for a 1 p.m. launch. Pick up will be at the eastern parking lot of Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital in Hillsboro. Participants are encouraged to use the parking lot during this time.
